Crown Angling Club was established in 1977 by the late Douglass Gillingham. It's purpose at the time was to cultivate good social feeling, promoting the principles of fair angling in a friendly atmosphere whilst protecting the clubs waters and habitat. These principles are still followed today.
Membership is available at present as follows.
Juniors (7-15 years), Adults (16+) and Family Membership (up to 2 Adults & 2 Children) There is also special rates for Senior Citizens, Unemployed, disabled and Students.
We do not have a closed season and our lake situated approx 6 miles outside of Colchester. Our 2 acre lake is well stocked with a wide variety of course fish including Rudd to 1lb, Bream to 6lb, Tench to 6lb, Perch to 3lb, Mirror, Common and Crucian Carp of various sizes.
