Chelmsford Talking Newspaper
Chelmsford and District Talking Newspaper Association is a voluntary organisation which brings local news on audio cassette FREE to persons who are registered blind or partially sighted. A 90 minute tape is produced each week and contains news from The Essex Chronicle and The Chelmsford Weekly News. As well as general news it includes such things as local sports, information on road and pavement works in the borough, births and deaths, entertainment and information from the borough council.

A monthly magazine tape is also issued which contains articles about places, people and events in Essex as well as items of wider interest.

Both these tapes are provided FREE and are carried FREE by the Post Office. They are posted on Friday to arrive on Saturday so the news is always up-to-date.

If you know someone who is registered blind or partially sighted and who would like to receive these tapes they can telephone us on 01245 354 079 to go on our mailing list. In some cases a cassette player can be provided for those who do not have one of their own.
