WEST ESSEX ARCHAEOLOGICAL GROUP
The Objects of the Group are:
To promote the advancement of knowledge and education by the study of archaeology, history and kindred subjects, particularly in West Essex.


To promote and organise
co-operation in the achievement of the above purposes.

Meetings are held on the second Monday of the month at 7.45 p.m. in the VIth Form Unit, at the rear of Woodford County High School, High Rd., Woodford Green.(pathway alongside fence to Charter Rd.)

The meeting include a lecture by an eminent person on various matters relating to archaeology. Visitors and new members are warmly welcomed, for further information please contact Viola Parr on 020 8514 2767.

Each month we organise a separate Tutorial session aimed at the more practical side of archaeology such as digging techniques, pottery and bone recognition etc. Coach trips and museum visits are arranged during the year.

We are currently involved with work at Copped Hall and Myddleton House.
