Home-Start Colchester is a voluntary organisation offering support, friendship and practical help to families with at least one child under 5 in the Colchester Borough.
If you have at least one child under 5 then we can help. Home-Start supports thousands of parents just through our home-visiting volunteers. They are people who are parents themselves or have parenting experience and know what families are going through.
They visit families in their own homes - usually once a week. The families decide the support they need from their volunteer and they will do it together.
Maybe a family needs someone to talk to who will not judge, a shoulder to cry on or perhaps someone to play with or read to their children; maybe a bit of support to make or keep medical appointments or to find out what else is available locally. The family decide!
It's FREE, it's CONFIDENTIAL. Home-Start volunteers will respect a families privacy and they always remember a family has invited them into their home.
