Co- op Community Fund
Co -op Community Fund
Most people will be aware that the Co- op operates a dividend scheme whereby a percentage of the profits are returned to the members at the end of the trading year.
The East of England Co-Operative Society, formerly the Colchester & East Essex Co-operative Society, has run a scheme by which members can nominate their "divi" to a charity of their choice. The East Anglian Railway Museum is a member and has already benefitted from this in previous years. It has just been presented with a further cheque which will probably go towards photographic equipment for Colchester Branch meetings. Our grateful thanks to all those who have made donations towards this total.
The Society currently has shops in the following locations:
Colchester, Clacton, Brightlingsea, Burnham on Crouch, Coggeshall, Dedham, Dovercourt, Earls Colne,
Frinton, Holland on Sea, Kelvedon, Maldon, Silver End, Walton, West Bergholt, Witham, Wivenhoe, Manningtree, Tiptree, and West Mersea.
The Society has recently amalgamated with other Societies to form the East of England Co-operative Society. This should mean extension of this scheme into Norfolk and Suffolk in due course. Details , however, are yet to be revealed.
For more details as to how you can help the Museum, whilst shopping at your local Co-op, please contact the following representative:
